Medical Assistant Classes
The demand for medical assistants is high and climbing. Certified Medical Assistants can expect good pay, averaging $18 an hour or more, and flexible working hours are available. This 245 clock-hour class is completed over a 12-week period online with one day of in-person clinicals, taught by a RN. Students will make use of the Canvas app, textbooks and Zoom once a week. This class can be taken from any location and is a national certification.
This program is designed to provide academic and clinical instruction of a medical assistant in a clinical setting. Classroom lectures cover the theory, anatomy and terminology pertaining to each system. Clinical instruction provides hands-on training in the listed procedures verified through a skills check-off system. Students will receive comprehensive instruction in clinical medical assisting. Does not cover National Certification Exam fee.
Prerequisites
- Possess a valid government-issued photo identification card
- Graduate of high school or its equivalent (GED).
Dress Code
Scrubs and closed toe shoes on day of clinical.
